Another popular activity on the Taylor River at Harmels on the Taylor is whitewater rafting. Kids can play on the brand new playground, created by ID Sculpture, located next to the waterfront cabins. We have a stocked pond located in our pasture area that is plentiful with smaller rainbow trout where you can use bait and keep what you catch; perfect for the smaller kiddos that shouldn’t be out in the river.

For guests who want to relax indoors, Harmels on the Taylor has a recreation room open 24/7 complete with a pool table, foosball table and plenty of boardgames and puzzles. We at Harmels on the Taylor are committed to making sure each and every guest has the best experience at our ranch!

Fly Fishing on the Taylor River

You have just found one of the best cold water fisheries in the state of Colorado! Our one mile stretch of waters, including the Taylor River and tributaries, has said to be "twice the fishing at half the price" of the Frying Pan near Aspen. No guides required, but encouraged. Our fee to fish per person is $125/day or FREE if you are a guest at Harmels.

Whitewater Rafting

The Taylor River trips offer something for every member of your group or family, from mild to wild. This is a scenic narrow river that meanders through the Taylor Canyon. You travel through areas where the canyon walls rise straight up from the river banks and often there are bighorn sheep sightings along the river. If you are lucky, you may even see elk, deer or an occasional black bear.
