Rock Climbing

Let us share with you the exciting and exhilarating sport of Colorado rockclimbing. Join us on an adventure filled with fun, beautiful scenery, and the rewards of overcoming mental and physical challenges, all within the safety of our professionally trained AMGA guides. Whether you are a first time family looking for a day of fun, or are a veteran of the walls of Yosemite, we have something to offer for everyone and every level.

We offer a variety of climbing day activities to fit whatever your skill level or goals may be. Join us for a ½ day Intro to Rockclimbing Class, perfect for families or those with limited time. Make it a full-day of climbing either at a relaxed pace for the entire family, or for smaller groups looking to push their skill levels and intensity. Or for the more experienced, join us on a full-day course focusing on gear systems and safety, culminating with an ascent of an area multi-pitch test-piece, a technical alpine peak climb, or a day in the Taylor Canyon.

Sessions Available

  • Morning Session 9:00am to 12:00pm
  • Afternoon Session 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • All Day Session 9:00am to 4:00pm

Session Pricing

  • 1 climber: $150.00* per climber for a half day
  • 2 or more: $95.00* per climber for a half day
  • 1 to 2 people: $260.00* for an all day climb

What to wear:

Let our experienced guides treat you to some fun on the rocks! Designed for the first-time climber, the focus will be on the climbing experience, climbing movement and fun. Routes of various grades will be set up for all to enjoy. This safe, controlled setting is an excellent way to be exposed to the thrill of rock climbing for the first time.

Tennis shoes or hiking boots.
Comfortable, non-restrictive long pants or long shorts and a long or short sleeve shirt is okay.
Pack or wear a warm layer, you should leave valuable jewelry at home, tie long hair back.
The weather changes abruptly at this altitude so dress accordingly – layers are best.

Reasonably fit and in good general health, no experience is required, this climbing day is for beginners!  The Crested Butte Mountain Guides also love taking out seasoned climbers.  There are many different routes to take on the rocks in this area.  The grades of climbing are usually between 4.1 and 5.9 depending on the route.

To secure your place for climbing, trekking or mountain bike tours, contact the front desk by noon the day before you would like to go. Length of trip is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
