Fresh off the success of the spring tournament, Risers 4 Rett returned to the Gunnison Valley this September for another weekend of world-class fly fishing—and we were delighted to partially host the event once again here at Harmels on the Taylor!
The fall leg of the tournament took place September 19–22, 2024, drawing anglers to Almont, Colorado, where the East and Taylor Rivers converge to form the mighty Gunnison. Although teams fished a variety of private waters throughout the area, we’re excited to share that some of the most memorable catches—and the overall winners—came through Harmels on the Taylor:

Ed and Steve spent Friday floating the Gunnison with guide Dave Shaw, then switched to wade fishing at Harmels on Saturday with our guide John Evon. Their combined eight largest fish over the two days outmeasured all other teams, securing them the top prize.
As always, the fall tournament was more than just a chance to reel in trophy-worthy trout. Participants enjoyed:
While final fundraising totals for the fall are still pending, proceeds from the event go toward supporting the Rett Clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Risers 4 Rett’s year-round efforts help ensure that families affected by Rett Syndrome receive top-notch, multidisciplinary care—an endeavor we’re proud to stand behind here at Harmels.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors who made the 2024 Risers 4 Rett Fall Tournament such a success. It was an honor to help host this fantastic event and witness the camaraderie and passion that brought anglers together in support of an incredible cause.
If you missed out on the fall action, don’t worry—Risers 4 Rett events happen throughout the year, and we hope you’ll join us for future tournaments in the beautiful Gunnison Valley. Until next time, tight lines, and we’ll see you on the river!
