Our cabins were clean and cozy with all the comforts of home! Diane helped us with all our questions and washers and dryers were on site. The owners are busy building beautiful new decks that overlook the Taylor River which is a fly fishing dream! John was most helpful in helping us find the best spots for fishing!! Gift shop was full of quality items. We cannot wait to return in July for a family wedding!

My group and I had a fantastic experience with Harmel’s in August of 2022. Arriving from Louisiana, the beautiful mountain weather immediately had everyone in a fantastic mood. Our group of 4 stayed in one of the larger cabins and everyone had plenty of room to stretch out after a long day on the river. We opted for the guided fly fishing on Harmel’s private stretch of the Taylor River. Our guides, John and Rob were fantastic- going above and beyond. They were incredibly patient with those of us who were beginners and offered seasoned advise to those who were more advanced. Every single one of us got on a few fish which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend.

The new ownership has made great strides to bring new life to this place. They are working out the kinks and as of August 10, 2022 still had no restaurant or bar. Great area to play pool and relax. Store has a good bit of the basics but the staff is very friendly.

Stayed at Harmels for a wedding, and my only regret is not staying longer. As other reviews have stated, they are currently remodeling many of their cabins and have done an incredible job. We stayed in a cabin right on the river and it was spectacular. Amazing views, the peaceful sound of the river...and our cabin was pet friendly! The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed from the moment we checked in. A delicious, fresh cooked breakfast is included with your stay. Harmels also hosted the welcome dinner and wedding reception, and the food and beverages were top notch. We weren't able to take advantage of any extra activities, but those who did raved about the horseback riding and rafting. Whether you're looking to get away and relax, get out for some mountain adventures, or both, Harmels is the place!

Our large group visited in July 2022 as part of a memorial for a very special family member that loved Harmel’s and the property, and even worked there with passion. The new owners and new maintenance leads were kind, accommodating and made our stay feel perfect for us. Several parts of the property have already undergone upgrades and are fantastic! The rest of the property is also being renovated, and I’m sure it’ll be even better when they’re done. We were a large group that stayed in several different cabins including the big house #100. Everything was clean, well stocked and just right. All of our spaces felt private and all sat on beautiful spaces along the Taylor River. We are all making plans to return next summer!

Ignore all reviews prior to Fall of 2021 - The new owners have done amazing things with this rustic riverfront resort. 48 people from our recreation club stayed here for 4 days in June 2022. What a treat! It's an amazing location on the Taylor River with great fishing, horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking right out your door - and still only 20 minutes to Crested Butte! The staff was amazing. Bode did a great job on our group horseback ride, John had our guys catching fish the first day, Val is a wonderful chef and Dianna and Savannah bent over backwards to make this an exceptional stay. Our group has been raving about it and we are already planning our 2023 trip back to this fabulous resort.
