Why Harmel's Ranch Resort?
This is such a magical place for a Colorado wedding! Our wedding and reception areas are located on the back side of the ranch where we are surrounded by 1.6 million acres of the pristine Gunnison National Forest, a romantic backdrop for any occasion. Our ranch is centrally located in Colorado as well as the U.S. Of course, all of you and your guest's time will not be spent at the wedding; therefore we offer a myriad of activities such as horseback riding, fly fishing (guided trips & instruction), whitewater rafting, massage therapy and rock climbing. Our facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool (open during the height of the season only), hot tub, sauna, stocked kid's pond, rec room w/ wi-fi, hiking trails, laundry facilities, and access to some great private fishing waters. We have room for 150 people to stay comfortably right here where the wedding &/or reception take place. Our 37 inviting cabins sleep anywhere from 2 to 9 people, 17 have kitchenettes. No more driving around town, it's all right here at Harmel's Ranch Resort!
Harmel's Wedding History
Harmel's hosted its first wedding in 1999. By word of mouth more couples have heard what a terrific job we do. Every year our staff has been praised for their diligence, efficiency and attention to detail. We define this as our best asset; Harmel's Western Hospitality. We have hosted many ceremonies and receptions over the years. We have done large & formal weddings (over 200 people) to small country-style weddings. Because of our flexibility Harmel's is able to make each one a special and unique event.
Worried about the weather?
Colorado's blue skies are more common than cloudy days. Just in case, we have enough space to set up a rented party tent (or two or three) at the reception grounds. We also have a small covered pavilion area that works great for the DJ, cake table, and wedding gifts.
There are 13 cabins located immediately surrounding the reception area that we require you to rent. This allows the reception to go later into the evening without disturbing our other guests staying at the ranch. These 13 cabins can sleep up to 55 people maximum, double occupancy. We have more cabins than just those 13. We have 37 cabins total and can accommodate up to 150 double occupancy. Check-in time is 2:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 am, sorry typically we cannot give late check-outs on these dates. We allow well-mannered dogs to stay in our cabins. We ask you to keep them under control at all times (please see our Pet Policy). If any of your guests will not be staying on the ranch we ask they leave their pets at home. If there is damage to the cabins or surrounding areas of the resort the wedding party will be held responsible.
Rates & Group Policies
Our fee for the reception grounds is only $2000!
As for cabin rentals: typically couples choose to have their guests come in on the Standard Package. This is the basic cabin rate listed on our website - the pricing is determined by the size of the cabin. Lunch, dinner and any activities can be purchased ala carte. The Standard Package includes your guests accommodations, breakfast, use of the facilities, private fishing permits, and daily towels & trash service. Our Group Cancellation policy states you must cancel 90 days prior to the first day of the reservation to be able to receive your deposit refund. If you would like to rent the ranch out in its entirety we have a 120 day cancellation policy along with a 30% deposit. Ask for Amie - she is the go-to person for large groups and weddings.

Hors d'oeuvres are served after the ceremony and just before dinner. Dinner is usually served approximately 1.5 hrs to 2 hours after the start of the wedding ceremony (we are flexible on any of the timing). Of course any menu can be discussed - call for pricing. Alcohol is not included in dinner prices.
Beer & Liquor (and more)
Alcohol is available through Harmel's Ranch Resort. By Colorado state law, any alcohol served on our property needs to be purchased through us. Seating for the Reception Dinner: we have picnic tables that seat up to 140 people already at the reception grounds.
